Trailer lights out. Again.

You know the routine. Hitch up, flip on the lights, walk to the back, and one side is dead. So you wiggle the plug, scrape the ground screw, wrap another wire in tape and holler at somebody to tell you which side is blinking.

Twenty minutes later you’re still in the driveway. Or it’s dark, it’s raining, and you’re under the trailer with a flashlight in your teeth.

LELUMP takes the wire out of the problem. Plug the transmitter into your truck’s 7-way socket, stick the lights on the back of the trailer, and tow.

Side-by-side: a cracked old trailer light with corroded, taped wiring next to a LELUMP light held on by its magnet

It’s not bad luck. It’s the wire.

Trailer wiring lives in the worst spot on the rig: underneath, in the spray, the salt and the mud. Ask anyone who’s towed for a few years and you’ll hear the same culprits.

  • A bad ground. The most common reason trailer lights quit. One rusty screw, and a whole side goes dark.
  • Corroded plugs. Boat ramps, road salt and rain turn copper green.
  • Chafed wires. Every bump and every tight turn wears through a little more insulation.
  • Chewed cables. Park a trailer for a season and the mice find the wiring.

And it never quits when you have time to fix it. It quits at the ramp at 5 a.m., or after dark with a long drive ahead. Every repair adds another splice and another connector: one more place to fail next time.

So we took the wire out.

Trailer lights with nothing to rewire

The kit is two rechargeable LED lights and a small transmitter. The transmitter plugs into your truck’s 7-way socket and sends your tail, turn and hazard signals to both lights by radio. Each light holds on with a magnet on its back. There’s nothing to splice, nothing to ground and no wire running down the trailer.

From hitched to rolling in about a minute

  1. Plug in

The transmitter fits the round 7-way socket on most US pickups and SUVs with a tow package.

  2. Stick on

Press a light against clean, flat steel at each rear corner and the magnet on its back grabs hold. Clip on the safety cables.

  3. Tow

Tail lights, turn signals and hazards follow your truck. At the end of the day, pull the lights off and pack them in the case.

Three steps: plug the transmitter into the truck’s 7-way socket, stick a light on the trailer frame, and tow

Before your first trip: charge both lights fully, plug in, and check the tail lights, both turn signals and the hazards in the driveway. Ten seconds there saves a stop on the shoulder.

Four questions everyone asks before going wireless

Spend an evening on boat and RV forums and the same worries come up again and again. Here’s how this kit answers each one.

ā€œWill it fall off on the highway?ā€

Each light holds on with a strong magnet on its back, padded with soft foam so it won’t scuff your paint. The kit also comes with two steel safety cables. Loop one around the frame and, even if a pothole knocks a light loose, it can’t hit the road.

Aluminum or wood trailer? Screw one of the included brackets in place and the magnet has steel to grab.

Habit worth keeping: wipe the spot clean before you stick a light on, and glance at both lights at your first stop, the same way you’d check your straps.

ā€œWill the signals lag or get mixed up?ā€

The transmitter reads your truck’s signals right at the 7-way socket and sends them to both lights, up to 98 ft (30 m) away. That covers a long boat trailer or a car on a tow bar.

The turn signals sweep outward cell by cell, so the driver behind you can read your next move at a glance.

ā€œWill the battery die halfway there?ā€

A full charge runs up to 10 hours, and recharging over USB-C takes about 2.5 hours. The battery level display shows where you stand before you leave, and the included car charger tops the lights up on the road.

Easy routine: plug the lights in when you unhitch at home, and they’re ready for next time.

ā€œWhat about rain, snow and the boat ramp?ā€

Both lights are sealed to IP67 against rain, snow and road spray.

Launching a boat? Pop the lights off before you back down the ramp. It takes two seconds and keeps them dry, clean and out of sight.

One kit for everything you tow

Move the lights, not the wiring. The same kit covers whatever you hitch up this week.

  • Boat trailers: no more wiring that dies after a season of launches.
  • Utility trailers: yours, a buddy’s or a rental, whatever shape its wiring is in.
  • Flat towing: light up the car behind your RV without splicing into its wiring.
  • Farm trailers: hay wagons and flatbeds behind the pickup.
  • Roadside recovery: instant lights on the car you’re towing home.
  • Vintage campers: skip rewiring a trailer that’s older than you are.
Six uses for one kit: boat trailer, utility trailer, flat-towed SUV, farm trailer, roadside recovery and vintage camper

Even if your wired lights work today, keep the kit behind the seat. The day they quit on a trip, you’re about a minute from rolling again.

Is it right for your rig?

Made for

  • Trucks and SUVs with a round 7-way RV socket
  • Steel frames, crossmembers, bumpers and tailgates
  • Aluminum or wood, using the included brackets
  • Moving between trailers and towed vehicles

Not made for

  • Vehicles with only a 4-flat socket, unless you add an adapter (not included)
  • Glass, plastic bumpers or fiberglass without a bracket
  • Going underwater at the boat ramp
  • Staying on a parked trailer. Keep them in the case.

We’d rather tell you now than have you find out in the driveway.

Yes, there are cheaper kits

Plenty of wireless trailer lights cost less. Many come in a cardboard box with two lights, a plug and a USB cable, backed by a one-year warranty.

This kit adds a hard case, mounting brackets, two steel safety cables, sequential turn signals, IP67 sealing, a battery level display, a car charger and a five-year warranty. It costs more because it’s built to be the last set you buy.

Questions before you buy

Will it work with my truck?

If your truck has a round 7-way RV socket, yes. That’s the standard trailer plug on most US pickups and SUVs with a tow package, and the transmitter plugs straight in. It won’t fit a 4-flat socket without an adapter, which isn’t included.

Do I have to wire anything?

No. Nothing gets spliced, crimped or grounded. The transmitter plugs into your socket and the lights stick on.

Which signals does it show?

Tail lights, sequential amber turn signals and hazards, plus a built-in license plate light, all following your truck.

Will the magnets hold at highway speed?

On clean, flat steel they hold firm, and the two steel safety cables are your backup. Check both lights at your first stop, the same way you’d check your straps.

My trailer is aluminum or wood. Will it work?

Yes. Screw one of the included brackets to the trailer, or use an adhesive pad on a smooth surface, then stick the light to the bracket.

Will the magnet scratch my paint?

The magnet has a soft foam pad. Wipe off dirt and grit before you stick a light on; grit is what scratches paint.

How far does the signal reach?

Up to 98 ft (30 m) from the transmitter. That’s plenty for a boat trailer, a car hauler or a flat-towed car.

How long does the battery last?

Up to 10 hours on a full charge, and about 2.5 hours to recharge over USB-C. Check the battery level display before you go, and top up with the car charger on the road.

Is it waterproof?

Both lights are sealed to IP67 against rain, snow and road spray. At the boat ramp, take them off before you back down; it keeps them dry and out of sight.

Can I use one kit on several trailers?

That’s the idea. Move it from the boat trailer to the utility trailer to the car behind your RV in about a minute. One rig at a time, of course.

How should I store them?

Recharge after each trip, keep everything in the case and wipe the magnets clean. If the kit sits for a season, top up the batteries every few months.

When will it arrive?

Orders ship within 72 hours. Delivery in the US usually takes 2–4 weeks, and you’ll get a tracking number by email. Tracking can take a few days to start updating.

What if it’s not right for me?

Try it on your own rig. If you’re not happy, return it within 30 days of delivery, free of charge. It’s also covered by a 5-year warranty. Email support@mendtide.com and we’ll help.
