💧 MENDTIDE Stainless Steel Gravity Water Filter System
Stop buying water.
Start pouring it.
You know the routine. You fill a glass at the sink, catch that faint swimming-pool smell, and pour it out. So your water comes from the store instead: cases heaved into the cart, stacked in the pantry, and a recycling bin that’s full again by Friday.
MENDTIDE ends the routine. Pour tap water into the top, and gravity carries it through two stages of filtration into the bottom chamber, ready whenever you are. No plumbing. No electricity. No more cases.
Still buying water by the case?
You’re not alone. In 2025, the average American drank about 380 bottles of water, nearly 48 gallons. For a family of four buying it by the case at $1 to $3 a gallon, here’s what that adds up to:
Bottled water, family of four
$190–$570
a year, for about 190 gallons
MENDTIDE, same family
About $20
a year: one new filter pair, good for up to 1,000 gal
That’s before the trips to the store and the bags of empty bottles. Using a pitcher instead? It holds about 10 cups, so you’re refilling all day, and its filter is done after 40 to 120 gallons. One MENDTIDE fill holds 2.4 or 3.2 gallons, and a pair of filters lasts up to 1,000 gallons.
Bottle count: IBWA, 2025 consumption per person. Case prices and pitcher figures are typical US retail. The MENDTIDE figure is filter cost only.
Pour it in.
Gravity does the rest.
Fill the top chamber with ordinary tap water. Gravity slowly draws it through the filters and into the bottom chamber, where it waits until you need it. Glance at the water-level window, open the spigot, and pour.
Slow on purpose
Gravity is slower than a faucet, and that’s by design: the water spends more time in contact with the carbon. The easy habit is to top it up in the morning and again before bed, so filtered water is always waiting. Want it faster? The top chamber holds up to 4 filters.
The upgrades come standard
Read enough reviews of countertop gravity filters and the same three complaints keep coming up. You can’t see how much water is left. The plastic spigot starts to drip. And the whole thing sits so low that you have to buy a stand just to fit a glass under it.
Every MENDTIDE comes with all three solved, on a body built to last:
- ✓Water-level window. See how much filtered water is left at a glance, without lifting the lid.
- ✓Stainless steel spigot. A solid metal body with a smooth lever, in place of a plastic tap.
- ✓Raised 5.9-inch stand. Lifts the spigot high enough to fit a glass underneath.
- ✓304 stainless steel body. 0.8 mm walls and no plastic tank, made to live on your counter for years.

What’s inside every filter
Stage 1: activated carbon block. Water passes through a dense wall of activated carbon first, which reduces the chlorine taste and odor behind that swimming-pool smell.
Stage 2: ultrafiltration membrane. Next, a bundle of fine hollow fibers traps fine particles, sediment and rust, the kind older pipes can shed.
What stays in: the minerals. Reverse osmosis strips out calcium and magnesium. Carbon and ultrafiltration leave them in, so your water still tastes like water.
City tap water, yes. Lake water, no.
Made for
- ✓Treated city tap water
- ✓Chlorine taste and odor

We’d rather tell you now than have you find out later.
Made for more than the kitchen
No plumbing and no power means it works anywhere you have tap water.
- Power outages. In 2024, the average US electricity customer lost 11 hours of power, according to the EIA. Gravity doesn’t need any.
- Apartments and rentals. Nothing to drill and nothing to plumb, so there’s nothing to clear with your landlord. When you move, it moves with you.
- RVs and road trips. Fill it at any potable tap, and filtered water rides along.
Which size is right for you?
Both sizes come with the same filters, spigot, window and stand. The only difference is how much filtered water you keep on hand.
Medium
2.4 gal
9 L
Best for 1–3 people
About 25 in tall on its stand
Large
3.2 gal
12 L
Best for 4–6 people, or extra water on hand for storms
About 27 in tall on its stand
Measure before you order
Both sizes are taller than the standard 18-inch space under upper cabinets. Pick a spot on an open counter, an island or a sturdy shelf, with a little room above to lift the lid. Once filled, it’s heavy, so keep it on a level, stable surface.
Both sizes include the stand, the spigot and 2 filters
Set up in four steps
-
1
Wash
Wash the body, lid and spigot in warm, soapy water, then rinse.
-
2
Prep the filters
Rinse the new filters under cold tap water.
-
3
Assemble
Install the filters and the water-level spigot by hand, then set the body on its stand.
-
4
Flush and fill
Fill the top chamber with tap water and pour off the first batch to flush the new filters. After that, just keep it topped up.
No tools needed.
Keep it fresh
Every couple of weeks, empty both chambers and wash them with mild soap. Don’t leave water standing for days in a warm room. Replace the filters every 1,000 gallons or once a year, whichever comes first, and sooner if the flow slows to a trickle.

Questions before you buy
What does it filter out?+
Two stages work together. An activated carbon block reduces chlorine taste and odor, and an ultrafiltration membrane traps fine particles, sediment and rust. The natural minerals stay in. It’s designed for treated municipal tap water.
How fast does it filter?+
Slower than a faucet, like every gravity filter. With the two included filters, the easy habit is to top it up in the morning and again before bed. For faster filtering, add two more filters: the top chamber holds up to 4.
Will it fit under my kitchen cabinets?+
Probably not. Standard upper cabinets sit about 18 inches above the counter. On its stand, the Medium is about 25 inches tall (19.1 inches without it) and the Large is about 27 inches (21.3 inches without it). An open counter or an island works best.
Which size should I choose?+
Medium (2.4 gal) suits 1–3 people. Large (3.2 gal) suits 4–6 people, or anyone who wants extra filtered water on hand for storms and outages.
When will it arrive?+
Orders ship within 72 hours. Delivery in the US usually takes 2–4 weeks, and you’ll get a tracking number by email. Tracking can take a few days to start updating.
How long do the filters last?+
A pair lasts up to 1,000 gallons, which works out to about 2¢ a gallon. Replace them once a year even if you use less, or sooner if the flow slows. Replacement pairs are available right here, as an option on this page.
Can I use it with lake, river or well water?+
No. MENDTIDE is designed for treated municipal tap water only. For untreated water, use a system that is designed and certified for that source.
Does it remove fluoride?+
No. Activated carbon and ultrafiltration aren’t designed to remove fluoride.
Is it NSF certified?+
No. That’s why we only describe what the filters are designed to do: reduce chlorine taste and odor and trap fine particles, sediment and rust in treated tap water. If you need certified reduction of a specific contaminant, choose a system certified for that contaminant.
How do I clean it?+
Every couple of weeks, empty both chambers, wash them with warm water and mild soap, and rinse well. If the flow slows, rinse the filters under cold tap water. Never use soap on the filters.
What if it’s not right for me?+
Try it at home. If you’re not satisfied, you can return it within 30 days of delivery, free of charge. Email support@mendtide.com for a return label.
