Why it gets under the ice

  1. Lies flatThe straight steel edge sits flat on the pavement.
  2. Slides underPush at a low angle and it works under the ice.
  3. Lifts awayThe ice breaks loose, leaving bare ground.

Built tough, not flimsy

Made to push hard against frozen ground, season after season.

  • 5-rivet reinforcement barReinforces the blade across its full width.
  • Welded socket, bolted handleThe socket is welded onto the blade, and the handle bolts firmly into it.
  • 11-inch flat steel edgeClears a wide strip each pass and gets tight against curbs and step edges.

Easy on your back

A simple push replaces the bend, scoop and throw that wears your back out. Anyone in the house can use it.

  • Stand uprightThe 63-inch handle suits most adults, taller ones too.
  • No heavy liftingPush to scrape instead of scooping and throwing.
  • Breaks down for storageFits in the garage, a closet or your trunk.

Bonus: less ice melt. Scrape the ice off first and a light sprinkle of salt or sand is usually enough. Easier on your wallet, your concrete and your dog’s paws.

Questions? Answered.

Will it break up really thick ice?

It works best on packed snow, frozen slush and ice stuck to pavement. For thick buildup, work in from the edges in short strokes. For very thick slabs, a heavy ice chopper is the better tool.

Will it scratch my driveway or pavers?

Keep the blade at a low angle and the flat edge glides along concrete and asphalt. On pavers, stamped concrete and decks, use gentle pressure, as with any steel tool.

Will the handle come loose?

The socket is welded to the blade and the handle bolts into it. As with any sectional tool, check that the joints and bolts are snug at the start of each season.

I’m tall. Will I still have to bend over?

At 63 inches, it’s longer than many traditional ice choppers, so most adults, including taller users, can work standing upright.

How long does shipping take?

Orders usually ship within 72 hours, and delivery to the US and Canada typically takes 2–4 weeks. Shipping is free on this item.

What if it’s not right for me?

Return it within 30 days of receipt, free of charge. Email support@mendtide.com with your order number and we’ll send you a return label.

Will it rust?

It’s a steel tool: wipe the blade dry after use and store it indoors. A light coat of oil before summer keeps it in great shape.
